I am a social worker by trade.  Currently, I am a social work educator in a BSW program at a public university.  I am a daughter; the daughter of an immigrant woman and an American man.  I am a wife; the wife of a Black man.  I am a mom; the mom of two beautiful, biracial boys.  I am a white, cisgender, straight American woman.  All of these things individually and combined have shaped who I am and how I see the world.
I recognize that my lens not only gives me unique perspective, but it also limits what I'm able to see.  One thing I am sure of is that we spend far too much time trying to organize our world into black and white, right and wrong, when the reality is we're all living in the grey.  So this blog is a representation of my life in the grey.
